Highlights of the Past Year

Our Writes of Passage Program with Wilton High School had high school students pairing up with a senior resident to listen, learn and write biographical essays. Photography students captured each resident in memorable poses. These photos and narratives were exhibited at The Greens at Cannondale, Wilton High School and the Wilton Library.

Reflections on Art with Darby Cartun featured animated discussions on the meaning of art masterpieces in an historical context.

Musical Events included performances at Ridgefield Playhouse and a visit from the Yale female capella singers.  Our residents repeated the annual Young, Not So Young, Talent Show with songs presented by both Wilton teenagers and The Greens residents-in costume.  We certainly put those young folks to shame!  Our music specialist Bill Campbell kept us musically minded with programs such as Songs of Your Life, The Music of Liberace, Music Trivia, classical listening and many more.

The Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall was a special treat for residents and family members.  We chartered a bus and took our dinner along.

Exercise includes swimming at the Wilton Y, Yoga, Tai Chi, Line Dancing and Breathe and Stretch.  Some residents took advantage of our membership to The Four Seasons Racquet Club for tennis and swimming.

Nearby trips included Wilton Historical Society, to see the Train Exhibit and the Westport Historical Society; also the I-Max Theater in Norwalk, the Aldrich Museum and a fabulous winter ride with hot cocoa to keep us warm.

Norwalk Community College’s Lifetime Learners Program is at The Greens and we’re learning all about the Movies

A variety of classes includes;  Baking, Pottery, Jewelry & Basket Making, Italian, Spanish, Knitting Circle, Bridge, Bingo, Word Games, Rummikub, Jeopardy, Sudoko, Brain Aerobics, Name that Tune, Painting, Computers, Creative Writing, Social Teas,  and more!
