Guiding the resident care attendants and nurses at The Greens is medical consultant and geriatrician Dr. Alan Radin (left), who makes weekly house calls and sees all his patients at least three times a year. Geriatric psychiatrist Dr. Alan Siegal also makes weekly house calls, and additional physicians see residents as needed. An advanced nurse practitioner complements the medical staff, and at least one nurse is on duty 24 hours a day.
Three times a year every resident is assessed on a range of health criteria, and those findings are instrumental in crafting a multidisciplinary care plan for each resident. In addition, wellness visits are performed every month. Medications are ordered through a local pharmacy that provides special packaging to help with medication management, and nurses administer medications for residents who need assistance.

A recent enhancement of the medical team’s capabilities is the addition of licensed massage therapist Matthew Tomasino. Trained at the Swedish Institute of Health and Sciences in Manhattan, he has expertise in reflexology, acupressure, aromatherapy and other specialized approaches to improved health.
The Greens at Cannondale is part of a “campus of caring” where both skilled care and rehabilitation services are nearby. Moreover, The Greens is unusual in its capacity to provide on-site physical and occupational therapy through Medicare Part B. And when residents want or need to see their own doctor, complimentary transportation is provided within a 10-mile radius.
The exceptional Wellness Program is one of many reasons residents “live better” at The Greens at Cannondale.
