Summer Wellness Series: Fueling Your Mind, Body and Soul
Part 2: Laughter Is the Best Medicine
The second part of the Summer Wellness series at The Greens at Cannondale/Wilton Meadow will teach us the therapeutic value of laughter!
Presenter Dr. Joyce Saltman, a professor Emeritus of Special Education at Southern Connecticut State University, consultant and international lecturer, will show us how to use humor to maintain a healthy perspective in our own daily lives.
“One of the goals of our wellness series is to promote the health benefits of physical and mental activity and positive thinking. Laughter has been clinically shown to enhance our mood, enhance brain plasticity, relieve stress, alleviate pain and can make the mind more alert. says Ron Bucci, Executive Director of The Greens Cannondale/Wilton Meadows. “All of these benefits and its free of side effects and is much less expensive than medication – we have only begun to understand all of the positive effects”
Come and learn the physiological benefits of laughter, studies on the mind-body connection, and practical (plus some not-so-practical!) suggestions on ways to bring more laughter into your life. The lecture combines scientific data with comedy, in an effort to provide a mirth-provoking educational experience.
All are welcome to attend and learn about laughter!
