We are delighted to announce that Wilton Meadows has received the Bronze “Commitment to Quality” Award from the American Health Care Association (AHCA). The AHCA is the nation’s largest organization of long term and post-acute care providers. The AHCA advocates for quality care and services for frail, elderly, and disabled Americans.
The Bronze Award level rewards Wilton Meadows for our continuous improvement in quality care. Implemented by AHCA/NCAL in 1996, the National Quality Award program focuses on the core values and criteria of the nationally recognized Baldridge Performance Excellence Program. The program includes three progressive levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold. Trained examiners conduct an in-depth review of each applicant’s operations to determine if the center has met the criteria. As a privately-owned organization continually striving for quality of care, this positive feedback from the American Healthcare Association is invaluable.
“It is a true honor to receive this recognition because it highlights Wilton Meadows and the entire Cannondale Campus’s commitment to an excellence of care,” said Ellen Casey, the Administrator at Wilton Meadows. “As one of the only privately-owned Skilled Nursing Facilities in the area, we owe great credit to our philanthropic owner supports our goals in providing excellent service, from robust staffing to maintaining a refined atmosphere on campus. The caliber of our Therapeutic Recreation department, for example, is instrumental in the positive outcomes of the nursing department and our below national average hospital readmission rates. The daily joy that our residents and short-term patients feel, living in a beautiful environment and remaining engaged in life between physical therapy appointments, helps them stay holistically healthy and reach their highest potential. The Bronze National Quality Award reinforces the value of the work we accomplish daily and our goals for further improvement. The laws and services geared towards helping the vast aging population are in constant flux; working with organizations like the AHCA helps me stay on top of the information that my community needs.”
This recognition with a National Quality Award complements Wilton Meadows multi-tiered care program, ensuring quality by monitoring and measuring key clinical and non-clinical indicators as well as each resident’s specific care needs. This systematic approach supports Wilton Meadows’s management of delivering care and services, team member engagement, and customer satisfaction. The quality of care provided by Wilton Meadows is evident in its word-of-mouth referrals, and testimonials dating back to the 1988 founding of the campus, and the receipt of this “Commitment to Quality” Award further affirms that excellence.
